While James and Jimmy were at the Father Son camp out, Tiara and I decided to put together a little Game night and Sleep over with a few of her friends from school. Because of the distance, we don't usually have their school friends over... but with a little planning, Tiara and I pulled off a pretty successful and fun night... We started with a little Mexican Train, but third graders haven't quite grasped the whole sit and socialize and play games routine... so they broke out in dance and song when I played some of the school music that they've been learning in music class...
They were quite the performers....
Realizing they didn't have the attention span for Mexican Train, I decided to switch it up a bit and play Don't Eat Pete... A HUGE SUCCESS....
We had to move the game up to the table, since the ottoman was bouncy, and the candy was not staying in place...
I finally got to play, AND I WON... It was AWESOME, I won't lie, I loved the attention... LOL!
It was still light out, and Simon's mom hadn't picked him up yet, so we went back outside to play more... Burn off some of that sugar we had just eaten... We did pyramids and lifts...
And a little tug a war with the only boy there... I'm pretty sure it's not technically tourture ...
After Simon & Sophie went home, the rest of us got in our pajama's and settled in on the sectional for a quiet movie.... Or at least that was my plan... I thought i'll put in Sound of Music, or Anne of Green Gables... Something really slow and LONG.... I figured they would be out by 10:00pm... But NO DEAL.... they must have been on to me... they veto'd the movie when we were only half way through the first Disc of the three disc series of ANNE of Green Gables... LOL... they put in something more upbeat... Some anamated Disney flick, had a pillow fight and stayed up untill Midnight....
I was exhausted, but for reasons beyond my control, I couldn't sleep and stayed up till 2:00am and got woke up by the giggling girls at 6:00 am.... I'm still trying to catch up on that sleep I lost... But all and all, it was a lot of fun.
